Rajasthan Congress leader Manvendra Singh Jasol met with an accident near Kushpuri village on the Delhi-Mumbai highway on Tuesday. He was allegedly accompanied by his wife, son and driver when his car collided with another vehicle on the highway.

According to initial reports, Singh’s wife Chitra died in the accident, while senior Congress leader and his son Solanki Singh were admitted to the hospital with serious injuries.

The Congress politician was driving from Delhi to Jaipur with his family when the accident occurred and the injured were “out of danger”, police said.

Manvendra Singh Jasol is the son of former BJP leader Jaswant Singh Jasol, who was in Atal ·Served as federal finance minister in the government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

From 2004 to 2009, Manvendra served as a Member of Parliament for the Bharatiya Janata Party on behalf of Barmer. However, he quit the party ahead of the 2018 Rajasthan Assembly elections.
