Rabri Devi warns Nitish Kumar amid defection in Lalu Yadav's party

Rabri Devi said, “If anyone needs to worry it is Nitish Kumar.”

Patna:

Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi today asserted that the defection of MLAs from her RJD and ally Congress should “worry” outgoing JDU president Nitish Kumar, who has recently aligned with the BJP, and should ” The writing on the wall should be seen.

Rabri Devi, who is the wife of RJD’s founding president Lalu Prasad Yadav, also claimed that the BJP is buying their MLAs in the belief that the political fight in Bihar is between the two parties.

The RJD national vice president said, “In Bihar now it is RJD versus BJP. There is no third force for the outcome. This is something that the BJP knows, which is why it is trying to alienate our people. “

“But we are not worried. If anyone needs to worry, it is Nitish Kumar. He needs to see the writing on the wall. It is not without reason that the BJP is trying to increase its strength in the Assembly. ” ” He added.

Notably, Rabri Devi’s statement comes a day after her party MLA Mukesh Roshan alleged that after keeping sufficient number of MLAs on its side, the BJP would be ruling the country for the longest time. There will be a split in JD (U) to remove chief Nitish Kumar from the post. Minister of State.

Rabri Devi seemed to agree with this argument and said, “You just need to see what the BJP is doing in other states.” Overall, four RJD MLAs and two Congress MLAs have joined the NDA in the last few weeks. None of them have joined the BJP so far, although there is speculation that they may do so formally in the near future.

Congress on Wednesday filed an application before Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav demanding disqualification of its MLAs Murari Gautam and Siddharth Saurav.

Rabri Devi said her party was planning to do the same for RJD MLAs Chetan Anand, Neelam Devi and Prahlad Yadav, all of whom had left the party on the day Nitish Kumar won the trust vote, and Sangeeta Kumari, Who had done the same a few days earlier.

Rabri Devi said, “We will try to keep our party united. But those who have made up their mind to change sides should first resign from the membership of the Assembly. They should be ashamed of what they are doing.” .I wonder how the Speaker can allow this.” The RJD leader also rejected the allegations of some defectors that those who are not from the Yadav caste are not getting any benefit in the party.

He said, “This is absolute nonsense. Be it extremely backward classes or Dalits, RJD has given respect to everyone. No other party has given place to sweepers, stone cutters and laborers in the state legislature or cabinet.”

In the 243-strong Assembly, the NDA has the support of 134 MLAs, including six defectors. BJP has 78 MLAs on its own, while JDU has only 45 MLAs.

The ruling alliance also includes four MLAs of former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM and one independent MLA.

The RJD, which was the largest party with 79 MLAs until it was hit by defection, lost power a month ago when the JD(U) supremo abruptly broke the alliance and returned to the NDA.

Rabri Devi was also asked about rumors that the Chief Minister was going abroad next week.

She said, tongue in cheek, “I wish him all the best. He might do well to settle abroad. There is not much left for him here.”
