As Pune Metro Line 2 prepares to launch operations from Ruby Hall Clinic to Ramwadi, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit the city to inaugurate it. However, the official confirmation from the project office has not yet been released.

The 16-kilometre stretch, which will start from Varnaz, is undergoing final inspections by relevant managers and authorities, requiring some minor changes before giving it final permission to operate.

This is what Pune Metro Rail Director said

According to the Indian Express, Pune Metro Executive Director Hemant Sonawane said: “The work has been completed and it is ready for commissioning. We have completed all required compliances as recommended by the Railway Safety Committee , and look forward to getting approval soon to start services from Ruby Hall to Ramwadi.”

Electronic ticket discounts

While encouraging commuters to take e-tickets instead of queuing, Sonavane also said, “Starting Thursday, Pune Metro will offer 10 per cent discount on every e-ticket on weekdays and 30 per cent on weekends.” He said paperless tickets would not only benefit the environment but also help passengers experience a seamless travel experience.

Here’s how to generate an e-ticket

Interested persons can get e-tickets by sending a Hi message via WhatsApp to 9420101990. The same can be generated using the official app of Pune Metro. This process will also enable them to enjoy the above discounts on every paperless ticket.
