In a significant action against drug trafficking, the Handwara police have attached assets worth millions related to a notorious drug pedal under the provisions of drugs and psychotropic substances (NDPS) Act.

A spokesperson said that while working in compliance with the prescribed legal provisions, the police station Kalamabad attached an infallible property under the supervision of senior police officers, including Fayj Ahmed Bhat S/O Let AB Ahad Bhat R/O Jandipora Mararatgam with a plot of land with a plan owned by Jandipora Mararatgam. Action was taken under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act in relation to the case FIR No. 47/2024 U/S8/21 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Kalamabad.

Initial investigation revealed that the said property was acquired through illegal income generated from drug trafficking activities. Accused, Fayz Ahmed Bhat, currently registered in the same case in the same case in Kupwara.

This action underlines the unbreakable resolution of the Handwara Police, which is to prevent drug threats by strike on the financial roots of the drug network. The department is committed to taking strict legal measures, including attachment of property, to eliminate infrastructure to enable drug trafficking.

The general public is once again appealed to come forward with any information related to drug trafficking and misuse. All information will be kept confidential.
