Promoted AAOS is waiting for cadre adjustment even after 13 years of waiting

Srinagar, June 18: After waiting for more than a decade, promoting the officials (AAOS) of Assistant accounts for the rank of Account Officers (AOS) under the Government Order No. 126-F on April 23, has brought mixed sentiments in the Finance Department of Jammu and Kashmir. While the height eliminates a long period of stagnation, delay in cadre adjustment has disillusioned many officers.

After serving for about 13 years without career progress, the authorities now get themselves promoted only in name. “If we are still working in the same capacity, what does this promotion mean, there is no clarity on posting or seniority?” Asked a new promotion AO. Many others called similar concerns “half-cake” and “symbolic”.

The cadre adjustment is an important next step – it determines where the authorities will be posted, their revised roles and their financial rights. However, there is no follow-up notification of time limit or implementation plans.

A group of affected employees said, “We appreciate the recognition of the government for our long pending demand, but we urge Honorable Chief Minister and Finance Minister Omar Abdullah to solve the issue immediately.”

Many people see delays as a continuity of systemic neglect, which were waiting for them more than a decade for this promotion. Until sharp action is taken, they warns, the morale of the entire accounts may be more damaged. (KDC)
