Prince William takes big step as King Charles returns to frontline duty

Prince William has launched a major initiative to save lives and opened a new site in Newcastle at a center which provides free treatment to suicidal men.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’s social media accounts shared photos of William’s visit to Newcastle shortly after King Charles returned to frontline duty on Tuesday.

The photos were captioned: “The free, life-saving treatment and support for men in suicidal crisis @jamesplaceuk delivers exceptionally in its centers across the country.

“Proud to open our new site in Newcastle today, which has already helped over 140 men since opening its doors for referrals in January.”

During the visit, Prince William also shared an update on Kate Middleton and her three children, saying they are “doing well”.

One asked the prince: “Would you mind if I ask how your wife and children are?”

William replied: “Everyone is doing well, thank you. Yes, we are doing well.”

William, heir to the throne, also met families outside James Place before opening the venue, shaking hands with well-wishers and happy to pose for selfies with them.

William is pranked by a child who pretends it is his birthday to get William’s attention. Three-year-old Kevin made this claim and was overjoyed when the future king bent down and shook his hand and asked him if he had eaten any cake. Later, the staff at Little Lotus Nursery admitted that it was not Kevin’s birthday.
