Prince Harry has reportedly changed his residency status from the UK to the US and his brother Prince William may be “hurt and disappointed” by his move, a royal expert has said.

The Duke of Sussex has declared the United States his residency status in documents related to his sustainable travel initiative Travalyst. The move comes amid tensions between Harry and his father and brother.

Relationship expert Luella Alderson believes the Prince of Wales may be upset about the “finality” of Harry’s decision.

“His relationship with the royal family does not appear to be a priority for Harry as he focuses on building his new brand and career in the United States. The end result of this decision may make Prince William and other members of the royal family uncomfortable.” and disappointment, but it may also provide clarity and closure for everyone involved,” Luella Alderson told Mirror.

She added: “Harry’s relationship with his family is already strained and this move sends a message to them that he has no plans to return to the UK anytime soon, or even at all.”

Harry will return to the UK in May to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Invincible Games. A special service will be held at St Paul’s Cathedral. It’s unclear whether Meghan and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will join her husband at the event.
