Prince Harry vows to continue mother Diana’s work in Africa during panel discussion

Prince Harry paid a sweet tribute to his late mother, Princess Diana, during a surprise appearance in Miami on Thursday.

The Duke of Sussex reportedly participated in a panel discussion titled “Potential Awaits” hosted by his charity Sentebale at the Ritz-Carlton’s South Beach restaurant Zaytinya.

When he spoke of Africa, he was filled with a deep love for the continent and its people, which he inherited from his charitable mother.

Diana’s extensive charity work included providing aid and assistance to the poor in Africa, particularly those affected by HIV and other incurable diseases during her lifetime.

“Africa is in my heart, Africa is in my soul,” Harry told attendees of the event.

“The first time I went there was when I was 12…13 years old, and after all these years I want to give something back because it gave me so much.

“The wide open spaces, culture, communities, people, wildlife and freedom are big reasons why I love Africa so much,” he continued.

The “Backup” author continued: “My mother was very concerned about HIV and AIDS, but also very concerned about the younger generation because their future was being stolen.”

“At the heart of Sentebale, we have always believed that every young person deserves the opportunity for a better future,” the prince added.
