President Draupadi Murmu on Sunday said the celebratory atmosphere across the country around the inauguration of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya is a seamless expression of India’s eternal soul and the beginning of a new cycle in the country’s revival, as he lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi. . In a two-page letter to Prime Minister Modi, the President said that “as you prepare yourself to go for the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of the ‘murti’ (idol) of Lord Shri Ram in the new temple built at his birthplace in Ayodhya Let’s do it, I can do it. Referring to the rigorous 11-day ‘ritual’ undertaken by the Prime Minister, Murmu said it is not only a sacred ritual but also a supreme spiritual act of sacrifice and devotion to Lord Ram.

Extending his warm wishes, the President said that the celebratory atmosphere across the country around the inauguration of the grand temple of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya Dham is a seamless expression of the eternal soul of India.

“We are all fortunate to see the beginning of a new cycle in the resurgence of our nation,” he said.

Murmu said that the universal values ​​of Lord Ram like courage, compassion and constant focus on duty will be taken closer to the people through this grand temple. “Lord Shri Ram embodies the best aspects of our cultural and spiritual heritage. Above all, he represents good which is at constant war with evil. His life and principles have influenced many episodes of our history and inspired nation builders.”

The President said Mahatma Gandhi drew strength from Ramnaam till his last breath and quoted him as saying: “Although my mind and heart had long ago realized the Supreme Virtues and Name of God as Truth, I recognize the truth in the name of Ram. In the darkest hour of my trials, that one name saved me and is still saving me.”

He said Lord Ram’s message of treating everyone with love and respect, irrespective of their social background, also attracted the intellect of pioneering thinkers.

His focus on justice and welfare of the people is also reflected in the governance approach of the country, the President said.

In fact, as an example of this, “you (Prime Minister) recently released the first tranche of various benefits to people from vulnerable tribal communities under the PM-Janman initiative”, he said.

“It was a great pleasure to see you invoking Mata Shabari in your address on that occasion. In fact, he will be doubly happy to see the welfare of the people along with the temple of Lord Shri Ram,” the President wrote in his letter to Modi.

He said Lord Ram epitomizes all that is good about this land and indeed humanity at large. “May he lead the world on the right path; May he bring peace and joy to all!” Murmu wrote.
