The San Jose Police Department said the victims were found inside the Santa Clara Mall and were taken to a local hospital. Their conditions are unknown.

In a post on X, San Joe Mayor Matt Mahan said: “This is not the news I wanted to share with you this holiday weekend. My prayers are with these victims and I know our officers are doing everything possible to find the individual responsible and hold them accountable. Currently, there is no threat to the community, but please avoid the area.”
