Police book habitually drug criminal under Pitt NDPS Act in Sopore

Srinagar, Aug 23: In Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir Police has booked a habitual drug criminal under strict prevention of illegal traffic in drugs and psychotropic substances act (pit NDPS).

An official said that a person identified as Mehraj-ud-Din Mir had a history of involvement in matters related to many drugs residents of Chijma. Despite repeated arrests and preventive activities, he continued his illegal activities, pose a constant threat to the society.

He said that after compiling a detailed doseer and receiving approval from the competent authority, a detention order was executed, and the culprit has been booked under the Pit NDPS Act and recorded in the Central Jail Jammu.

The J&K police reiterated their zero-optional policy towards drugs and warned all the repeat criminals to protect them from such activities. He urged the public to be vigilant and supported efforts to ensure drug-free Sopore.
