Saharanpur:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said Muslim women will bless him for centuries to come as he has removed the “sword” of triple talaq hanging over their heads and those of their families.
Addressing an election rally in Saharanpur, Prime Minister Modi reached out to the Muslim community, which has a sizeable population in the Lok Sabha constituency of western Uttar Pradesh, saying true secularism benefits everyone on government welfare schemes irrespective of caste and religion as seen during the BJP rule.

“The PPP government has put an end to the evil practice of (instant) triple talaq. We have enacted a strong law for the benefit of crores of Muslim sisters” and to protect their families, he said.
Some people say Muslim women benefit, but “they don’t fully understand. It’s not just Muslim women who benefit,” but also their parents and brothers, who are always worried about what they will do if their daughters or sisters have to do this Prime Minister Modi said that one has to go through triple talaq.
“By ending this practice of triple talaq, we save the entire Muslim family and liberate them from the fear of the sword hanging over their heads. The daughters of Muslims will continue to bless Mohamed for centuries to come. Dee,” the Prime Minister said.
This time, the people themselves participated in the elections to form a government with an absolute majority in the country. My heartfelt thanks to the family members who came in large numbers to Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh to send their blessings.https://t.co/XHCW2A3g9M

In the 2019 general election, the BJP won 62 seats and its ally Apna Dal (S) won two seats, defying challenges from the Samajwadi Party, the BJP and the right-wing Democratic Alliance alliance.
The BSP is the largest gainer in the alliance with 10 seats. Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party won five seats while the RLD was unable to open its account in the polls. The Congress won the only Rabareli seat that Sonia Gandhi had contested.
This time the RLD has joined hands with the BJP, while the BSP is going it alone.
