Prime Minister Narendra Modi has interacted with Shubanshu Shukla, the first Indian group captain to reach the International Space Station (ISS).
The AXIOM-4 mission, group captain Shukla and three other crew members were carried out on 26 June with ISS.
The PMO said in a post on X, “PM Narendra Modi interacted with Group captain Shubanshu Shukla riding at the international space station.”
The group Captain Shukla is the second Indian to go into space and is serving as a mission pilot.
Earlier, after the successful launch of the Axiom 4 mission, PM Modi said that group captain Shukla is fulfilling the wishes, hopes and aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians.
“We welcome the successful launch of the space mission carrying astronauts from India, Hungary, Poland and America. Indian astronaut, group captain Shubhanshu Shukla is on the way to become the first Indian to go to international space station.

Group Captain Shukla described the launch as “magical” and reflected on his journey.
“I am thrilled to come here with my fellow astronauts – what was this a ride. Honestly, as I was sitting in a capsule ‘Grace’ on the launchpad yesterday, after 30 days of quaralation, yesterday, I could think that I could think: Just go.
He thanked the mission team, called experience “collective achievement”.
He said, “I really appreciate every person’s efforts who made this journey possible. It is not just a personal achievement – it belongs to all of us,” he said.

After receiving his official astronaut PIN from AX-4 Mission Commander Paigi Whitson, Shukla said, “I am not 634, this is a privilege.”
“To be fair, this is the privilege of one of the few people who have got the opportunity to see the Earth from a convenient point that I can see now. It’s a wonderful ride. I was eager to come to space – it’s something to look forward.
I had crossed the expectations I had, so thank you very much; It was fantastic. I am confident that the next 14 days are going to be amazing in science and research, ”Shukla said in her ‘arrival comment’ after entering the ISS.
“I have a small message for my countrymen: this is due to your love and blessings that I have safely reached the international space station. It may seem easy to stand here, but it’s not; I am having a headache.
However, we will get used to it. We will stay here for 14 days, conduct scientific experiments and speak with you. It is a milestone for India. Let’s make this journey exciting and allow everyone to participate with interest, ”said Group captain Shukla.

Astronauts planned to spend two weeks aboard the parikrama laboratory, with a mission with science, outreach and commercial activities.
