Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the Grand Cross of the highest honor order in Cyprus by President Nicos Christodaulides at the President’s Palace of Nicosia on Monday.
Makros III, the highest merit honor honored in Cyprus, is named after Makaros III, the first chairman of the Republic of Cyprus. It is provided to the heads of the state and other people of the important situation in the recognition of meritorious service for the nation.
PM Modi thanked the people of President Christodaulids, Sarkar and Cyprus for honor.
“For the Grand Cross of the President, Makaros III’s order, I express my heartfelt gratitude to you, the government of Cyprus and the people of Cyprus. This honor is not just mine, it is the honor of 140 crore Indians. It is an honor for their abilities and aspirations. It is a respect for our country’s cultural brotherhood and” Vasudwam. I dedicate this honor to India and Cyprus and friendly relations between shared values and mutual understanding. On behalf of all Indians, I accept this honor with great humility and gratitude, ”PM Modi said.
He added, “This honor is a symbol of our unwavering commitment for peace, security, sovereignty, regional integrity and prosperity of our people. I understand the importance of this honor and accept it as a responsibility for relations between India and Cyprus.”
He expressed confidence that relations between the two countries would touch new heights.
He said, “I am confident that in the coming times, our active participation will touch new heights. Together, we will not only strengthen the progress of our two countries, but will also contribute to creating a peaceful and safe global environment.”
In a post on X, the Foreign Ministry (MEA) spokesman Randhir Jiswal said, “India’s trusted India-sprus friendship and an award dedicated to 1.4 billion people. President @christodulides said to PM @Narendramodi with the order of Cyprus to ‘peace, progress and prosperity.”
Crystodaulides today welcomed PM Modi at the President’s Mahal in Nicosia today. The president of Sapreet and PM Modi introduced each other to the representatives of their respective countries.
In a post on X, Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jiswal said, “Strengthen the relationship with a trusted partner. PM @Narendramodi was warmly received by President @Christodulides at President’s Mahal in Nicosia today and a formal welcome was given. The official talks carry forward.”
PM Modi reached Cyprus on Sunday afternoon (local time), in two decades, an Indian PM marked the first visit to the island nation. He was obtained by the Chairman at Laranaka International Airport.
He warmly welcomed the Indian migrant in Limasol.
On his arrival, PM Modi interacted with Cystodaulides, president of Cyprus, during the trade roundate, with the lead CEO. During the conversation, PM Modi talked about India’s reform trajectory in the last decade.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Promoting professional linkage! President Nicos Christodaulids and I interacted with the lead CEO to add strength to commercial relations between India and Cyprus. Areas such as innovation, energy, technology and more immense capacity.
