A major match-fixing controversy has erupted in Indian football after videos surfaced of players scoring suspected suicide goals in the Delhi Football League. Indian football club Minerva Punjab and Delhi FC owner Ranjit Bajaj urged the authorities to take immediate action against the ongoing corruption in the Delhi League. Bajaj himself shared videos of suspected suicide goals scored during the match between Ahbab FC and Rangers FC. In a sensational post on social media, Bajaj even claimed that the I-League is completely fixed.

Ahbab FC was leading 4-0 against Rangers FC when their players suddenly scored two shocking own goals. The players started passing the ball back to their goalkeeper in a strange manner and suddenly the ball went into their own net.

“I can guarantee that fixing is rampant in @FootballDelhi Senior Premier Division – that’s why until they take action, we are ready to play in this again – I’m saying it again and again – The most corrupt league in the country – @ILeague_aiff is not far behind – Referees – Team owners – Five teams involved and all the players know about it – Nobody cares – And guess who is the main partner of Delhi Soccer Association – A betting company @cbic_india @delhiPolice @delhi_FC

“I tweeted about this a month ago, no one contacted me – who would want to watch this match – please make it viral – this is actually the third division of our league,” Bajaj said in a post.

“I tweeted about this in mid-January – no one did anything – again I’ve been proven right – can you believe they’re not even trying to hide it anymore @footballdelhi – this Club owners are ruining the game – how can we actually do this Develop as a football nation – urgent action is needed – please tag all concerned – let’s get together and do it before it’s too late Save your game,” Bajaj wrote in another tweet.

He said, “We demand jail sentences for these fixers – even @ILeague_aiff is completely fixed and I will not shut up until I have proof.”

All India Football Federation President Kalyan Choubey also shared his views on the viral video on social media and admitted that suspicions of serious corruption have increased.

“We have been made aware of the video being broadcast on the channel, which is raising serious doubts on the Delhi Premier League. Prima facie, it is very worrying. Over the last few months, we have been working with consistent investigation to eliminate such cases. “Collecting solid evidence on suspicious matches. FM #IndianFootball” Choubey said on X (formerly Twitter).

If the allegations are proven true then strict action is expected to be taken by AIFF.
