Piyush Goyal meets German ministers to boost trade, investment, technology and green energy ties

India and Germany on Thursday, October 23 discussed ways to enhance cooperation in areas including trade, investment, technology, green energy and skills.

These issues were discussed during a meeting between Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and German Federal Economy and Energy Minister Katharina Reich in Berlin.

“The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, technology, green energy and skills,” the commerce ministry said.

Goyal also met Levin Hooley, Economic and Financial Policy Advisor at the Federal Chancellery and G7 and G20 Sherpa from Germany and discussed ways to further deepen bilateral economic ties.

He chaired a roundtable at the Indian Embassy with CEOs and leaders of German Mittelstand companies who expressed their eagerness to do business in India and expand existing investments.

The Minister highlighted the opportunities offered by India and the steps taken to facilitate investment and ease of doing business.

It said the discussions explored synergy and stronger business-to-business relations, particularly in the areas of innovation, sustainability and advanced manufacturing.
