Picture agency pulls Kate photo over fears of ‘manipulation’

Several photography agencies, including Reuters and the Associated Press, have pulled a new photo of the Princess of Wales over concerns it was “manipulated.”

The picture in question is Published Sunday morning Celebrating Mother’s Day, Kate was surrounded by her and Prince William’s three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The photo was initially circulated by multiple photo agencies, but on Sunday night, at least two retracted the image and asked media outlets to “delete” the photo from their systems and archives.

The AP also updated its website to inform reporters and broadcasters that the photo was being “removed.”

The updated headline reads: “Upon closer inspection, the source appears to have manipulated the image.”

Kensington Palace has provided the photo to agencies and said it was taken by the Prince of Wales earlier this week.

Kensington Palace declined to comment.
