BBC Bargain Hunt Art Expert Oghenoco Oziri, 53, sold Mr. Ahmed to artifacts for about 140,000 pounds and failed to report the sale.
Oziri was arrested on 18 April 2023 at Wrexham, North Wales, on the same day the government announced sanctions against Mr. Ahmed, and was imprisoned for two and a half years for eight offenses under Section 21A of the Terrorism Act 2000 on Friday.

Bethan David, head of the CPS Counter Terrorism Division, said: “It is clear that Oghenocheuko Oziri knew about the new money laundering rules in the world of art and had knowledge of Nazam Ahmed’s background.
“Oziri is engaged in the activity designed to hide the identity of the true buyer under a separate surname in her mobile phone and by storing the name of Mr. Ahmed and storing the name of Mr. Ahmed.
“His inspiration seems to be financially as well as financial desire to promote the reputation of his gallery within the art market to deal with such a famous collector.”
Oziri has appeared in several BBC shows including Bargain Hunt and Antiics Road Trip.
He described himself as “absolutely passionate” with collecting contemporary art in BBC Q&A.
He has previously worked as an auctioner and is known for making African and European contemporary art champions.
