Voters in Ivory Coast went to the polls on Saturday to elect a new president, as 83-year-old incumbent Alassane Ouattara sought a fourth term.
Several prominent rivals were barred from running, leaving five candidates to compete for Ivory Coast’s top post. But many see Ouattara, the leader of the world’s largest cocoa producer, retaining his seat. If he wins, he will extend his rule for almost two decades.
