Washington – As US President Donald Trump talks about his global trade war and anxation, a new pole describes the percentage of Canadian people who see the United States as a top threat, it has been three times since 2019.

While this year’s survey by Pew Research Center shows that 55 percent of Canadians still say that the US remains the most important ally in the country, it also says that 59 percent now see the US as a threat – above 20 percent in the 2019 survey.

“Canada stands out as a place, where the US scenes have changed significantly and considerably,” said Genel Fetterolf, a senior researcher at the Center.

Pew voted people in 25 countries and the United States was quoted as the most important ally in 12. This was the most nominated threat in eight countries – the nearest neighbor, Canada and Mexico, the nearest US,.

Canada Trump had an early goal of tariffs and taunts. He repeatedly called former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau a “Governor” and said that he wants to make Canada an American state.

Trump hit Canada and Mexico with duties that were claimed that in March, to return tariffs for goods complying with the Canada-US-Maxico agreement on trade, only a few days later.

Both countries are also being targeted by Trump’s tariff on steel, aluminum and automobiles.

The Pew Research Center stated that many people named Russia as a top threat in Europe, and those people in the Asia-Pacific region are usually named China.

Poll respondents were more likely to name the United States as an economic threat, while Russia was considered a threat to national security and China was usually quoted as a mixture of both.
