Jaipur, November 14 (IANS) Rajasthan BJP chief Madan Rathore expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Bihar for the historic victory of the NDA alliance in the Bihar assembly elections.
Taking a dig at the opposition, Rathore said, “Those celebrating the victory of one seat clearly lack the spirit of nation-first. If the nation was really their priority, they would have introspected on the pitiful state of their alliance in Bihar.”
He said that blaming EVMs or making irresponsible statements just to grab headlines is against democratic values.
He said that the people of Bihar have unwavering faith in the development work done by the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last 11 years.
Rathore said the expansion of power supply, road network, rail infrastructure and flyovers has given a new developmental identity to Bihar and the public has accepted this progress through a decisive mandate.
He said that people have given a befitting reply to the opposition’s shallow, negative and misleading statements against the Prime Minister.
Attacking the opposition alliance, Rathod said that the public has completely rejected the mismatched alliance formed only out of hunger for power. Parties with no ideological synergy came together only for political gains, attempted to create confusion, but ultimately people rejected them.
Commenting on the situation of the Congress party, he said that its struggle to win only 1-2 seats out of 243 reflects the near collapse of its support base.
“They should introspect and improve their working style and policies,” he said. Rathod said Lalu Yadav’s past corruption and his pact with Rahul Gandhi further contributed to the opposition’s defeat.
Speaking on Anta assembly by-election, Rathore took full responsibility for the party’s defeat.
“As the head of the organisation, the responsibility for the outcome is mine,” he said. He said that he fully respects the people’s mandate. He said that whatever shortcomings there are will be reviewed and rectified.
Rathore thanked the people for ensuring peaceful voting in Anta and congratulated the victorious candidate Pramod Jain Bhaya and urged him to live up to their expectations.
Rathod admitted that the Rajasthan government failed to effectively deliver many of its development projects to the public.
He said that the misinformation spread by the Congress party could not be countered in time and people wanted to support a service-oriented, honest and local candidate, but awareness among the public remained low.
He assured that the party will conduct a serious organizational review and make necessary reforms. He said that by-elections and general elections are fundamentally different and the end result does not indicate any change in the power structure of the state.
He said that if there was a need for reforms or corrective measures within the organisation, the party would implement them without hesitation.
