Jammu, Nov 17 (IANS) Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district police on Monday said it has seized a motorcycle bought with drug money, continuing its drive against drug trafficking and finance generated from such illegal activities.
In continuation of its relentless drive against drug smugglers and in a determined effort to dismantle the illegal narcotics network, the District Police Reasi today attached the illegally acquired property of a notorious drug smuggler, a police statement claimed.
โA motorcycle bearing registration number JK02CP-5240, owned by accused Mohammed Razak, s/o Ghafoor Ahmed, r/o Treen, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi, has been attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985. This action is taken in connection with the intensive financial investigation conducted by Police Station Katra during the course of FIR No. 198/2025 u/s 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act P/S Katra,โ the police said.
The police further said that investigation revealed that the said vehicle was purchased with the proceeds of illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, which qualifies it as illegally acquired property under NDPS provisions.
โThis seizure is another important step in the ongoing crackdown on drug smugglers. District Police Reasi is committed to take stringent action against the criminals not only by arresting those involved in the supply chain but also by targeting and seizing assets raised through illicit drug money.
A police officer said this decisive action has been widely appreciated by the general public, praising the tough stance of the Reasi Police in curbing the drug menace and financial gain of criminals involved in drug trafficking.
