Paul Gascoigne Raoul has described his participation in the Mott manhunt as the “biggest regret” of his life.
talking to LBC On Monday (October 27), the former footballer discussed his efforts to track down Moat, who shot and killed three people in 2010.
Gascoigne, wearing a dressing gown and carrying a fishing rod, arrived at Rothbury, where Moat was cornered after a week-long search. He attempted to gain access to the moat by claiming to be a “good friend” of the fugitive.
He told host Nick Ferrari that he had “gone mental”, believing the killer was his half-brother and that he could “help him”.
“Luckily, my father isolated me for 11 days. I got cold feet and thought ‘Oops, never again'” he added.
