The incident took place on a flight from Dubai to Islamabad on Sunday.
As seen in a video widely circulated on social media, a flight attendant on a Dubai-Islamabad flight had to restrain an unruly passenger with zip ties. The incident occurred on an Emirates flight on Sunday afternoon and the man was said to be drunk and “extremely violent,” Newsweek reported, citing a person on board. He was pushed to the ground by crew members and then restrained. Another video showed the man being held in a wheelchair at the airport, but his whereabouts were unknown.
“This happened on a flight from Dubai to Islamabad this morning. A passenger who was still in fear during the flight sent this message: “Drunk guy extremely violent. Restrained and handcuffed by the Emirates crew but I think the Pakistani authorities released him because he was well connected,” Pakistani journalist Aamir Mateen posted on X (formerly Twitter) while sharing the video.

He also claimed the man was allowed to leave and asked Emirates about the incident.
In the now-viral video, the man attempts to headbutt a crew member, who pushes him to the ground with the help of another crew member.
The video then shows the man being pinned to the floor by two male cabin crew members while two female flight attendants appear to have tied his legs with zip ties.
Several such incidents have been reported in the past few months. In early February, two men were detained after an argument occurred on a Southwest Airlines flight from California to Hawaii.
In December, a man was detained after trying to punch a police officer on a Spirit Airlines flight from Colombia to Miami. A few weeks ago, a passenger attacked a flight attendant on a flight from Miami to New York, leaving her lying in a pool of blood.
