Passenger in Australia peed in cup and spilled urine on crew

A 53-year-old passenger has been fined by an Australian court for urinating in a cup while drunk on an Air New Zealand flight from Auckland to Sydney.

The defendant also spilled urine on a flight attendant as he left the plane.

The incident, which occurred in December last year, came to the fore when a passenger sitting in the same row reported the behavior to the flight crew, Stuff New Zealand reported.

The accused passenger was charged A$600 (approximately Rs 33,000) for his actions.

Recalling the incident, the complainant said she and her 15-year-old daughter were sitting in the aisle and middle seats respectively when the accused man, who was sitting in the window seat, started urinating in a cup. The incident occurred after the flight landed at Sydney Airport.

The complainant further said that while the plane was waiting on the tarmac for the terminal gate, she heard “the distinct sound of a passenger urinating in a cup,” Stuff reported.

She said the man was “drunk” and spilled urine on a flight attendant as he left the plane, Stuff reported.

The Australian Federal Police said in a statement about the issue that the alleged passenger was kicked off the plane because he “urinated in a cup in his seat”.

Meanwhile, Air New Zealand said it would not comment on individual incidents, adding that it bans between five and 10 passengers a month for disruptive behavior, including drunken behaviour, Stuff reported.
