Parliament session to provide 21 seating spread in 32 days: Kiren Rijiju

A meeting was held with Jagat Prakash Nadda, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, chemicals and fertilizers and state leader of the state, in which issues related to the monsoon session of Parliament were discussed with leaders of political parties along with leaders of political parties at Parliament House Complex on Sunday with leaders of political parties.

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs said that the meeting was called by Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju. The meeting was also attended by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Arjun Ram Meghwal and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, L. Murugan. Overall, 54 leaders of 40 political parties participated in the meeting, including Union Ministers.

Nadda made introductory remarks and welcomed all the leaders attending the meeting and after that, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs conducted the meeting. He informed the leaders that the monsoon session of Parliament will start on Monday July 21 and will be subject to the interpretations of the government business, the session may end on Thursday, August 21.

During this period, both houses will be postponed to the convenience of Independence Day celebrations on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 on Monday, August 18, 2025. The session will provide a total of 21 seating spread over a period of 32 days.

Rijiju further stated that 17 items of legislative and other business have been temporarily identified to be raised during this session.

The Union Minister also said that the government is ready and according to the rules of both the houses, is ready to discuss any other important issue on the floor of the houses. Leaders of various political parties expressed their views on various issues raised by them during the upcoming monsoon session and assured the government to provide full support.

Nadda commented and thanked all the leaders for attending the meeting, expressing their views and their active and effective participation. He also said that the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has paid attention to all the issues raised by the members and appropriate action will be taken by the competent authorities as per rules and procedures.

Parliament will conduct a table of 15 bills throughout the session, including discussing the demands for the grant (Manipur) for the year 2025-26 and the introduction, idea and passing/returns of the concerned Appropriation Bill. Additionally, a proposal seeking approval for the expansion of the President’s rule in Manipur will also be presented in the session.

Lading bill bills, Car of goods by C Bill, Coastal Shipping Bill, Goa Bill Representation of Scheduled Tribes in the state assembly constituencies, merchant shipping bill, Indian ports bill, Manipur Mall and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, Jan Vishvas (summary) bill, provisions, (summons) Jearhitage Sites and Jio-Relix (Protection) Bills, Mines and Jio-Relix Bills, Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bills, National Sports Government Bill, National Doping Anti-Doping Amendment Bill are for ideas and passing.
