A Nurse A student has collided with the register after offering to remove the tampon while she was the victim Medical Emergency.

James Birdse, who was employed by South Central Ambulance The service NHS Trust, told the student that he wanted to see her naked and “slept with other students” while they made changes together on 22 June 2019.

According to a Health and Care Profession Council (HCPC) Tribunal Panel, he started an unexpectedly to start bleeding and making unfair comments about his genital area, after he started bleeding unexpectedly, he conducted a clinical examination of the student without his consent.

The panel found that Mr. Birdse’s behavior was “hunter in nature” and the Emergency gave him the opportunity to take advantage of the situation to get sexual satisfaction “.

The paramedic also kissed the student on his cheek and offered him to take him out for food and drink during the incident.

Mr. Birdse was suspended by the trust four days after the incident, and resigned from his role on 4 November 2019 after an internal investigation.

In a statement made for a review hearing in the case on 19 May 2025, Mr. Birdsay said that he was “deep regret” of his actions and apologized for any loss or crisis to the student.

He said: “I can accept that in the leading events for the incident with the student A, I displayed an overclavity with him, who crossed the limits of a common professional relationship and I worked in a way from the way I did not proud.

“I did not give enough consideration about the effect that my behavior could be on the student A who was in a weak position.

“When I do not agree to use this weak situation in a malicious way to make a sexual relationship with them, I believe that my behavior not only reduced by me expected by me, but I should not expect myself nor as a practice, but as a person, a mentor and a father of teenage children.”

Mr. Burdse said that he started a course to maintain professional borders after the incident, saying: “I did not change my perspective about the student from a colleague to the patient adequately”.

The HCPC panel found that Mr. Bird’s behavior caused the student to “emotional loss and unwanted sexual harassment” and gave the amount of serious professional misconduct.

“The panel found that on June 22, 2019 the conduct of the registrar was a hunter in nature as the student was new to the workplace, the registrar deliberately manipulated the crew’s rota sheet to ensure that he was working with him, a power was an imbalance, and his comments with the student in the day were said to establish a future sexual intercourse with the student.”

“Conduct was predetermined to this extent, he misused his professional position and was not isolated into nature.

“The latter medical emergency, which could not be rebuked, gave the registrar an opportunity to take advantage of the situation to get sexual satisfaction.”

After determining its fitness, the panel ordered the register to attack the paramedic from the register, which was impaired, suspended the paramedic for a 12 -month period in April last year.

He said: “While the panel notes that the Registrar does not want to return to practice, it may change in the future and cannot restrict it, assuming the seriousness of the charge, will reduce public trust in profession and HCPC, considering the seriousness of the charge.”
