Palworld is more than just ‘Pokémon with guns’: What it is, system requirements, and more

If you’re a gamer and haven’t been living under a rock, you know about Palworld and how popular it has been since it launched a few weeks ago on January 19th. In fact, the game has broken multiple records and become the most successful third-party game in Xbox GamePass history. According to reports, the game has sold 19 million copies cumulatively on Steam and Xbox.

But for those unfamiliar, Palworld is a survival game developed by Japanese indie game maker Pocketpair. Similar to the Pokémon games, it features creatures called “Pals” that can be captured. It has many similarities to Pokémon, from the appearance of the creatures to how they are stored in a “Paldeck.” In short, it’s an amalgamation of various playstyles, and in doing so, it’s weird in a lot of ways, including the aspect of having your friends shoot you with a machine gun.

In addition to the capture mechanics, crafting and survival are integral aspects of the core experience. Among other features, you can assign tasks to your friends. Think of it as a Nintendo game inspired by Pokémon that never existed and enhanced with exciting mechanics and elements for an enjoyable gaming experience.

Developer thanks fans for their reaction after Nintendo noticed

“The response from fans has been incredible. It’s great to see millions of players around the world enjoying Palworld,” said Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe. ” Meanwhile, Nintendo will have to acknowledge the existence of Palworld at some point. Nintendo said it would “take appropriate measures” if the game is found to contain content that infringes on its original content rights.
