Pakistan violates ceasefire in Poonch, Kupwara regions

Jammu, 28 April: Army officials said on Monday that Pakistani troops continued to violate the ceasefire with the LoC by resorting to unsafe firing in Poonch and Kupwara districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

It was the fourth consecutive night that Pakistan resorted to unsafe firing along the Line of Control (LOC) and stressed after a terrorist attack in Pahgam in Pahgam last week between New Delhi and Islamabad.

A defense spokesperson said, “During the night of 27-28 April, Pakistan Army posts started fire of small arms in LoC in areas along with Kupwara and Poonch districts.”

Indian soldiers responded rapidly and effectively, they said.

There was no report of any casualties.
