Conflict There was a clash on Tuesday between Pakistani and Afghan State media in Pakistan accused Afghan troops of “unprovoked firing”, which was dispersed.
Pakistani forces responded, damaging Afghan tanks and military posts, according to Pakistan TV and two security officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
Tahir Ahrar, deputy police spokesman for Afghanistan’s Khost province, confirmed the clashes, but did not provide any further details.
This is the second time this week that both sides have fired at their long ranges.
According to Pakistan state media, Afghan forces and the Pakistani Taliban jointly fired on a Pakistani post “without provocation”, in what the media described as a “strong response” from Pakistani troops in Kurram, a district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Security officials said Pakistan’s military also destroyed a massive training facility of the Pakistani Taliban.
There was no immediate comment from Pakistan’s military, which has been on high alert since Saturday after the two sides exchanged fire in several border areas, resulting in dozens of casualties on both sides.
However, the clashes stopped on Sunday after the appeal of Saudi Arabia and QueueAll border crossings between Pakistan and Afghanistan have been closed.
on weekends, Kabul Said it targeted several Pakistani military posts and killed 58 Pakistani soldiers in response to repeated violations of Afghan territory and airspace. Pakistan’s military gave lower figures, saying it lost 23 soldiers and killed more than 200 “Taliban and affiliated terrorists” in retaliation along the border.
Tension has been at its peak since last week, when the Taliban government accused Pakistan of carrying out air strikes in Kabul and Eastern Bazaar. Pakistan has not accepted those allegations.
But Pakistan has previously launched attacks inside Afghanistan that it says target targets of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, or TTP, which is separate from but affiliated with the Afghan Taliban.
Pakistan accuses Kabul of harboring the group, which has carried out several deadly attacks inside Pakistan. Kabul denies the accusation, saying it does not allow its territory to be used against other countries.
