Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday condemned Pakistan’s participation in the Pahgam terror attack on 22 April and said that it targeted the livelihood of humanity and the people of Kashmir. He emphasized that the purpose of Pakistan’s actions is to disrupt the earnings of hardworking Kashmiris through tourism.
Addressing a rally in Rasi in Jammu and Kashmir, “Unfortunately, our neighboring country is against humanity and even the livelihood of the poor. What happened in Pahgam on April 22 is an example of this. Pakistan attacked both humanit and Kashmirit in Pahgam. Why Pakistan attacked tourists in Kashmir … Pakistan targeted the family of Kashmir …”
The Prime Minister also praised Adil’s courage, who stood against terrorists in Pahgam and lost his life. He said that the bravery shown by the people of Jammu and Kashmir has sent a strong message to the mentality of terrorists around the world.
“Adil, who challenged the terrorists, also went to Pahgam to work so that he could take care of his family. But the terrorists killed him too … The strength shown by the people of Jammu and Kashmir during this time has sent a rigorous message to the world’s terrorist mindset,” PM Modi said.
He said that the terrorists targeted tourists in Kashmir, which affects the local economy and livelihood of the people. PM Modi said that Jammu and Kashmir had earlier accepted terrorism as fate, but the present government has brought about a change, which has made people empower to dream big again.
He said that people want to see the region becoming a place for a center for film shoots and sports activities. “Jammu and Kashmir saw so much destruction that the people here had stopped dreaming. They had accepted terrorism as their fate. We have dropped them out of this situation … The people here now become a place to shoot Jammu and Kashmir again. They want to see it as the center of sports.”
PM Modi assured that the development of Jammu and Kashmir would not be interrupted by such attacks and promised to support the youth in fulfilling their dreams. He promised that if someone tries to block the dreams of the youth, they would have to face them first.
