Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday paid tribute to those who tolerated the “terrible result” after the partition of India in 1947.
As the partition of India gives a terrible reminiscent, Rajnath Singh recalled hatred and violence and called the partition a “painful chapter”.
Sharing an X post, the Union Minister wrote, “Recalling that painful chapter of 1947, on the horrific memory day, I pay homage to all the brothers and sisters who had to bear the dreaded consequences of hatred and violence after the partition of India and saw the loss of life and property.”
He said that the government is committed to strengthening social harmony in the country.
“Even today, every Indian feels sympathetic to those affected families. We are fully committed to strengthen social harmony in the country,” he wrote.
Earlier today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to millions of people affected by partition in 1947, which remembered pain, violence and displacement.
On the day of the frightening of Partition, Shah condemned the partition of the nation and expressed his heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives during this tragic period.
In a post on X, Shah wrote, “#partitionhorsrembranseday is the day to express sensation by remembering the pain of the people suffering due to the division and its tragedy.
“I pay my heartfelt tribute to all those people. The country will never forget the history and pain of partition. I pay my tribute to those who have lost their lives in this terror of partition,” the post read.
