One-year-old boy killed by stray dog in Hyderabad

A one-year-old boy was mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs here, police said on Thursday. They said the incident took place late on Wednesday night when the child’s father and other family members were sleeping in their hut in Shamshabad.

A police officer said it was unclear how the toddler escaped from the cabin.

A man alerted police after he spotted six dead dogs on the road surrounded by a baby, who arrived to find the boy injured.

The boy’s father reported to police that his son died as a result of a dog bite. A case has been registered and investigation is ongoing.
