Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao recalls Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Nai after his sister K Kavitha was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate Chandrababu Naidu’s 2019 remarks in which he condemned the misuse of investigative agencies to silence the opposition.

Recently, Mr. Naidu announced that he will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections along with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and the Janata Party.

KT Rama Rao shared the TDP chief’s 2019 social media post and said: “No one could have said it better than Chandrababu Naidu Garu below.”

Mr. Naidu, in his X post in 2019, had condemned the misuse of CBI and ED to silence opposition leaders ahead of the then Lok Sabha elections.

“The misuse of agencies like the CBI and ED to harm opposition leaders and their families ahead of the 2019 general elections is deeply disturbing and shows how despicable the BJP is in its political vendetta. What is questionable is the nature of these attacks. Timing. Why now?” Mr Naidu said in the 2019 post.

Meanwhile, Ms Kavitha, daughter of BRS founder and former Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, was arrested on Friday from her residence in Hyderabad after a day of interrogation in connection with an alleged money laundering case related to Delhi’s excise tax policy. to raids.

The BRS leader will appear before a special court in Delhi today, probably in the afternoon.

BRS leader Harish Rao termed the arrest of Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLC K Kavitha as “illegal and undemocratic” and accused the BJP and Congress of conspiring to demoralize the BRS party and KCR.

Ms. Kavitha’s lawyer P Mohith Rao also termed the arrest of the BRS leaders as “illegal” and said they would take steps required by law.
