Srinagar, July 26, (KDC): In a real example of administrative inspection, the Directorate of Skill Development, J&K, on Friday issued an order providing summer holidays in the government and private polytechnic institutions – for a period that ended about a year ago.
On July 25, 2025, the bizarre directions of 2025 dated 2025, order number 218, and director signed by director Shahzad Alam, IAS, “All the government/recognized private polytechnics in JKut started 30 days of summer vacation from 21.07.2024 to 19.08.2024.”
Yes, 2024- Not a typo in the story, but in official communication.
This error has raised a sharp criticism of comprehensive ridicule, confusion between students and faculty, and many people the case of “cut-end-pest governance”. The fact that the order refers to the period of holiday from the previous year, has turned a regular administrative communication into a public embarrassment.
Even assuming that the holiday was to be announced for July -August 2025, the order remains defective – has been issued on 25 July, it refers to the holidays starting from July 21, four days ago. This chronological non -equation not only indicates a typo, but also a complete failure in proofriding and basic administrative reasons.
Supervisors and education stakeholders say that the blunder is greater than a harmless inspection – it outlines a disturbed culture of bureaucracy lethargy. An educationist told KDC, “If they handle a holiday notice, imagine how they manage policy, money and purchase,” an educationist told the KDC.
The responsibility is located on the desk of director Shahzad Alam, whose signature gives official weight to the circular. In particular, the order was copied to several senior officials, including the secretary of the government, JKBOT and all the polytechnic principal, who used to increase its reach and embarrassment.
