The alleged attacks occurred in February and March, according to police testimony. Ms. Vesta said her son could not speak and was covered in bruises when he came home from school for the first time in January. Other injuries followed, including a black eye in February, which she said a bus attendant blamed on him hitting himself with a toy, and a bruised foot in March.

It wasn’t until Ms. Vesta asked to see the bus surveillance footage last month that she learned Jones was abusing her son. She posted the video on Tuesday and the 29-year-old was arrested. She was arraigned on the morning of April 5 and posted a $5,000 bond, police said.

Now, the families of three special needs children in Colorado are considering filing a lawsuit against the school district. A law firm representing the families of the three students said they suffered “extreme physical and emotional abuse” over a six-month period on a Littleton Public Schools special needs bus. It added that all three children could not speak and were therefore unable to report the abuse.
