Swift action of an alert Railway Protection Staff (RPF) member averted a tragedy after he saved a 36-year-old man who had come dangerously close to a moving train while attempting to board it at Vasai Road station. .

A video of the incident was shared by Western Railways (WR) on microblogging site X on Wednesday.

“A 36-year-old man came dangerously close to a moving train while attempting to board it at Vasai Road station, hence alert RPF staff responded immediately. “Western Railway has requested passengers to avoid boarding/alighting from moving trains!” Read the post.

In December 2023, a woman and her two children miraculously escaped being hit by a train at a Bihar railway station. A video of the incident went viral on social media, showing the mother leaning on the tracks as the train passed over her children. All three survived without any scratches, officials said.

After the train stopped, alert RPF officers saved the boy safely. RPF shared the video of the incident on its official Twitter handle.

“A father-son duo faced a terrifying moment when the son slipped into the gap between the platform and the train while attempting to catch a moving train at Akola station. Thanks to alert RPF officers, the boy was rescued safely,” RPF tweeted.
