Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli recently revealed that they have become parents for the second time and they have been flooded with congratulatory messages from their friends. On Anushka’s Instagram post announcing that the couple welcomed a son named Akaay last week, Alia Bhatt wrote, “How beautiful, congratulations.” Ranveer Singh, with whom Anushka co-starred in Band Baaja Baaraat, dropped Dil Aur Badi Nazri. Shweta Bachchan wrote, “Badhaai ho” and Sonam Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Bhumi Pednekar also wrote. Bride-to-be Rakul Preet Singh commented, “God bless.” Dia Mirza wrote, “Congratulations. All our love and blessings.”
In matching social media posts, Anushka and Virat wrote: “With immense joy and hearts full of love, we are all happy to share that on February 15, we welcomed our baby boy Akay and Vamika, baby brother.” Welcome to this world. We seek your blessings.” And best wishes for this beautiful time of our lives. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time. Love and gratitude, Virat and Anushka.”

There was no announcement of pregnancy, but there were rumors that Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli were expecting child number two, which was confirmed by cricketer AB de Villiers, who later made a U-turn. Virat is on leave and could not play in India’s Test series against England. Anushka Sharma has also been on a hiatus of sorts – her last release was the 2018 film Zero. She will be next seen in Jhulan Goswami’s biopic Chakda ‘Express’.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli dated for a few years before getting married in 2017. Their daughter Vamika was born in 2021.
