“Not yet confirmed”: CM Omar Abdullah in reports of terrorist of Pahalgam attack killed in OP Mahadev

Amidst the report that one of the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack on April 22 was shot in ‘Operation Mahadev’, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on Monday that development was yet to be confirmed. However, he said that it would be a good thing if one of them is killed.

Addressing reporters here, Chief Minister Abdullah said, “It has not been confirmed yet. It’s a good thing if it is confirmed. From the day of the Pahalgam attack, whether it is police, paramilitary, or army, they are after them (terrorists). If one of them is killed in an encounter today, it is a good thing.”

His statement came in the midst of the fact that one of the terrorists involved in the April 22 Pahalgam attack, claiming that 26 people had lost their lives, were shot today under Operation Mahadev.

Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Zone) Vidhi Kumar Burdi earlier said today that the three terrorists killed in ‘Operation Mahadev’ near Dachigam National Park in Srinagar are identified today and “will take some time in the process.”

He confirmed that the operation is still going on in Harvan.

IGP Kashmir Zone told Mediaperson, “The operation is still on. According to internal reports, three bodies have been observed and they have been neutralized. We will take some time to identify, and parties are still inside.”

The Chief Minister welcomed the Parliament discussion on the Pahgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor.

“Discussion on Operation Sindoor is fine, but before that, it is necessary to discuss Pahalgam. Recently, LG Sahab said that it has definitely been negligent. Intelligence and security failure have played a role in it, so it should also be discussed in Parliament, if there was an intelligence failure, a security failure, which was a discussion after the operation.

The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir expected announcements on the state issue during the monsoon session of Parliament.

“We are hoping that we will get something in this session. If we do not get anything, we will talk after that. I will not go on strike, at least for now, until the Parliament session is going on …” he said. (AI)
