As a new batch of pilgrims on Thursday for Shri Amarnath Baba’s holy cave, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhari said that the yatra was not just one religious, but one of the people.
He further stated that security forces, porters, tent service providers and other travels were involved.
“This journey is not just a religious journey. It is a journey of people. Security forces, ‘Pitas’, Tent every service provider includes it … The enthusiasm among devotees is unique.
Earlier, devotees chanting “Har Har Mahadev” and “bomb bomb good” because they started their journey.
A pilgrim at the Baltal Base Camp, who is visiting Amarnath Shrine for the 14th time, praised the arrangements. He said, “I am from Sangrur, Punjab. This is the 14th time when I have come for the Amarnath Yatra. There is no need to hurry it. The arrangements made by the government are excellent,” he told ANI.
A pilgrim from Bengal, who was part of the first group to depart from Pahalgam base camp, also expressed satisfaction. “We are very happy. We have no fear. Our government is very good … Our army is also very good. We have no reason to fear,” he said.
Another devotee of the same batch said, “The facilities are very good … Everything is related to Baba. We have nothing … arrangements are excellent.”
Kavita Saini also shared her experience, Kavita Saini, who made her first visit to Amarnath. “This is my first time for the Amarnath Yatra. Experience is very good. We got our medical certificate and registration from here. Everyone was very helpful. Delhi Police and Kashmir Police were very helpful for us … I will pray that there is peace and happiness in our country and whatever happened did not happen again.”
The 38-day pilgrimage started today will end on 9 August. It will follow the two routes, the traditional 48-km Pahgam route in the Anantnag district and the small but small but stator of the 14-km Baltal route in the Ganderbal district. The first group of pilgrims left from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu on 2 July.
In view of the April 2025 terror attack, security has been carried forward significantly in the Jammu region in Pahgam. More than 50,000 personnel of CRPF, Army and Police have been deployed. CCTV cameras, drones, jammers and facial identification systems are being used to monitor the route.
Arrangements have also been made for medical teams, air ambulances and emergency withdrawal to ensure the safety of all pilgrims. (AI)
