Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Monday said he would not be intimidated by the protests by the Students Federation of India, the student wing of the CPI(M).

Governor Khan told reporters, “I have said many times that if protesters come near my car, I will step down. One thing should be clear in their mind, I am not afraid. I am not afraid of facing animals.” I believe.”

Subsequently, clashes broke out between SFI workers and the police, leading to their detention.

The SFI has been protesting against the Governor for the past several days, alleging that he, using his authority as Chancellor of universities in the state, pushed “BJP-RSS candidates” into various universities in Kerala.

Governor Khan reiterated his allegation that the protests against him were a joint venture of the SFI and banned the Popular Front of India (PFI).

“This protest is a joint venture of SFI and PFI. SFI has recruited PFI volunteers. He (CM Pinarayi Vijayan) is sacrificing the youth,” he said.

Governor Khan is at loggerheads with the state government over various appointments in state universities.

He on Sunday criticized Kerala Higher Education Minister R Bindu, accusing him of being “completely ignorant” and showing lack of respect for the court and the law of the country.

He said, “I am not going to answer to the criminals. Illegality has happened and the law will definitely take its course. He (R Bindu) might have said anything. I do not consider him important enough to respond to his comments. ” on Sunday

When asked about the incidents at the Senate meeting held at the University of Kerala, which was presided over by Higher Education Minister R Bindu as Pro-Chancellor, Khan replied that he had no right to do so without his permission.

“Whatever he says, all I know is that someone claiming to be the Education Minister tried to interfere illegally in a Senate meeting. This is a violation of the law. Senate meetings are presided over by the Chancellor. or by someone authorized by the chancellor. No other person has the right to preside over it. “I promise you that any violation of law will be taken into account,” Arif Mohammad Khan said.

However, Higher Education Minister R Bindu said he had not violated university rules and that as Pro-Chancellor, he had the authority to preside over the Senate meeting, contradicting Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan’s statement. Is.
