A stretch of the Noida elevated flyover will be closed to commuters from Monday in view of the road resurfacing work that started on Sunday afternoon, officials said.

The Noida Traffic Police has issued an advisory asking commuters to take alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.

Thousands of commuters use this flyover every day to and from Sector 18, Film City, Kalindi Kunj, South Delhi, Faridabad and Ghaziabad, Sector 61, 62, 63 of Noida etc. .

“The public is informed that the Noida authorities have started the resurfacing (repair) work of the elevated road from Sector 18 to Sector 61 at around 4 pm today. The estimated time for completion of the resurfacing work of the road from Sector 18 to Sector 61 It will take about 45 days,” the traffic police said in a statement on Sunday.

“In the first phase, resurfacing work will be carried out on the elevated road from Sector 18 to NTPC. In view of this, traffic from Sector 18 to NTPC will be restricted on the elevated road from Sector 18 to Sector 61,” it noted.

However, traffic from NTPC to Sector 60 will continue to remain the same, police said.

Police said traffic on the elevated road was diverted on Sunday due to road resurfacing work, and there was heavy traffic pressure at Sector 31-25 Chowk and Sector 18 underpass.

The police said: “During the traffic diversion period, emergency vehicles will be allowed to pass safely. Please take a detour to avoid inconvenience. If you encounter traffic inconvenience, you can call the traffic help hotline 9971009001.”
