Patna, October 23 (IANS) Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai on Thursday launched a scathing attack on RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, saying that even though the grand alliance has projected him as its chief ministerial candidate, the people of Bihar will never let him become the chief minister.
Rai said that the people of Bihar know what kind of internal discord is there in the Grand Alliance due to which Tejashwi was made the candidate.
He said, “Tejashwi Yadav can become the CM candidate, but never the Chief Minister. In a democracy, the Chief Minister is elected by the people – and the people of Bihar have faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the governance of Nitish Kumar. The NDA government will once again be formed in the state.”
The former Bihar BJP president and Lok Sabha MP from Ujiarpur warned that Bihar would return to the “era of jungle raj” if the government is formed under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav.
Rai claimed, “There will be murders, robberies and rapes in broad daylight. Land and houses will be looted, just like in 1990 and 2005.”
He alleged that Tejashwi Yadav was made the CM by “pressuring and threatening” the Congress and other alliance partners, adding that even the Grand Alliance leaders were not completely convinced about his leadership.
Reacting to Tejashwi Yadav’s recent statement on taking action against corruption, Rai said, “He should start by taking action against himself and his family. From the fodder scam to the land-for-job scam, the Yadav family has a long list of corruption cases.”
Recalling the 2020 assembly elections, Rai accused RJD supporters of spreading fear and extortion in the state.
Urging voters to remain alert, he said, “People have not forgotten how RJD goons had threatened voters, demanding money with promises of revenge after the government was formed. That terror ended only when Nitish Kumar formed the government.”
Expressing confidence in the victory of the NDA, the Union Minister said, “On November 14, the victory flag of the NDA will once again be hoisted across Bihar. The Grand Alliance will be defeated.”
He said Bihar is progressing under the “double engine government”, and the people stand with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed and prosperous state.
