Nia handled the case of Pahalgam terrorist attack from J&K police, starts investigation

The Central Anti-Terrorism Agency formally filed a fresh FIR at the end of Saturday, which after an order from the Counter Terrorism and the Counter Radiklisation (CTCR) Division, considering the gravity of the Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, as a proximity of the Pakistan-affected terrorist outfits, Lashkar-e-Taiba (TRF) for the resistance Is responsibility.
The NIA handled the case five days after the incident and four days after visiting its team’s attack and in about twenty years, the deadliest attack on citizens in the region is considered to be supporting Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The NIA team led by a Deputy Inspector General-Ranking officer visited Basaron on 23 April, a day after the attack.
The official formula, Privy for Vikas, told ANI that “the NIA has formally handled the case from Jammu and Kashmir Police and investigated it.”
The NIA investigation is important, as 26 tourists died in the April 22 attack, including a Nepali citizen, and more than three dozen others were injured. The incident occurred around 2 pm in Bisaran Meado, near the popular tourist city of Pahgam.
The NIA team is expected to make a thorough evaluation of the site of the attack, collect forensic evidence, and help to identify those responsible for the massacre.
Authorities pressed a helicopter in service to evacuate the injured persons.
This attack comes at a time when Kashmir is experiencing a significant increase in tourist arrival after years of extremism. In particular, the 38-day Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to begin on 3 July.
NIA’s move compiles a list of 14 local terrorists among intelligence agencies who are actively working in the center area.
According to sources, these individuals, aged between 20 and 40, are supporting foreign terrorists from Pakistan by providing logistics and grassroots support.
The identified operators have been allegedly associated with three major Pakistan-supported terrorist organizations: Hezbul Mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let), and Jaish-e-Mohammed (Jame). Among them, three Hizbul are associated with Mujahideen, with eight letters, and three with games.
Sources of the names of Safi Ahmed Akshuam (39), Aaron Rashid to Rashid (39), and Zakir Ahmed C (29).
Dentu joined late in 2021 and is actively working as Sopore District Commander of Band Outfit. Asif Ahmed Sheikh, a Jame terrorist, is the District Commander of Avantpora and has been continuously involved in terrorist activities since 2022. Ahsan Ahmed Sheikh is active in Pulwama as a late terrorist and has been involved in terrorist activities since 2023. The terrorist in Pulwama has been connected to Gem since 2024. Yavar Ahmed Bhat is also fully active in Pulwama and has been associated with Gem since 2024.
Asif Ahmed Khanday is a terrorist in the Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir, and he joined Hizbul Mujahideen in July 2015, and is currently an active member of the terrorist group who for Pakistani terrorists. Naseer Ahmed Wani is also actively involved in terrorist activities in Shopian since 2019, which is a fairly active member for Pakistani terrorists. Another active terrorist in Shopian is associated with Shahid Ahmed Kute, Late and its Proxy Group, The Resistance Front (TRF) to 2023.
Aamir Ahmed Dar is also active in Shopian since 2023, working with let and playing a major role as an ally of foreign terrorists. Adnan Safi Dar, who is another active terrorist in Shopian district, has been working jointly for late and TRF since 2024, and serve as a drain for information from Pakistani handler to terrorists.
Zubair Ahmed Wani alias Abu Ubaida alias Usman is the main operations commander of Hizbul Mujahideen in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. They have been classified as A+ active terrorist and have been significantly assisted to other terrorists and have been implicated several times in attacks on security forces since 2018.
Aaron Rashid Ganai, an active Hezbul Mujahideen terrorist is also from Anantnag, the search radar of security forces. He had earlier traveled to Pakistan-Quiz Kashmir (POK), where he received training in 2018. He reportedly recently returned to South Kashmir. However, Zubair Ahmed Ghani, a leading terrorist from Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir, is late and constantly involved in attacks on security forces and targeted murders.
The identity of these local terrorist colleagues comes when agencies accelerate efforts to destroy the support network providing convenience of cross -border terrorism.
Security forces have started coordinated operations in South Kashmir, especially in Anantnag and Pulwama districts, where many listed individuals are operated. Senior officials indicated that these names are part of a large intelligence doseer, which are being used to pre-attack further attacks and disrupt terrorist logistics in the valley.
Agencies are engaged in finding relations between these 14 terrorists and five terrorists who were involved in the attack.
The release of the list of these 14 local active terrorists is a step after which investigators identified the five terrorists involved in the deadly attack, including three Pakistani citizens. Officials had earlier released three sketches of these Pakistani terrorists, Asif Fauji, Suleman Shah and Abu Talha. The other two valley-based operators were identified as Adil Guri and Ahsan. A reward of Rs 20 lakh has also been declared on each. (AI)
