The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday arrested an absconding senior trainer of the Popular Front of India (PFI) from his home in Kerala’s Kannur district.

Accused Jafar Bheemantavida is on the run in connection with the PFI Kerala case (RC-02/2022/NIA/KOC) involving a proscribed organization conspiracy established in India in 2047 Islamic rule.

Eventually, the NIA Fugitive Tracking Team and the Kerala ATS traced him to his home in Kannur.

Jaafar is the 59th accused to be arrested in the case, and the NIA has so far charged 60 people.

The NIA investigation revealed that Jafar Bheemantavida was part of the PFI outfit which had been operating secretly to establish Islamic rule in India by 2047.

He is suspected to be a senior PFI trainer responsible for conducting weapons training to cadres to prepare them to become members of the organization’s service corps/commandos. The mission of such groups/squads is to carry out targeted attacks and use force to carry out orders from PFI leadership.

According to NIA investigations, Jaafar was also involved in several cases of “attempt to murder” and attacks in Kerala. Efforts are also on to trace the other absconding accused involved in the conspiracy.
