allegedly trump Fell asleep during cabinet meeting on TuesdayWhen White House press secretary Carolyn Leavitt was asked about the president’s sleep, she insisted that he was “listening attentively and conducting the entire three-hour marathon Cabinet meeting,”
Newsom has caught on to Trump’s new tendency to snooze, giving him Trumpian nickname “Doozy Don.”
“Dozy Don has been performing a lot lately,” another Newsom Post They say.
That post included a photo of Trump reportedly sleeping at a ceremony marking his name being added to the US Institute of Peace earlier this week.
Trump-friendly insiders have talked about the 79-year-old president’s sleeping habits before.
“And of course if he’s not sleeping, if he’s working, he expects everyone else to be working too,” Vice President J.D. Vance told Fox News’ Sean Hannity. Vance claimed that Trump sleeps very little on a normal night.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard made similar comments in October, telling Fox News that Trump is “absolutely relentless.”
“I know someone made a comment on the plane, you know, [that] He goes on these long trips, flies so long, doesn’t sleep, he’s working during all those flights, running and going straight to work,” she said.
It’s not just Republicans who have heard Trump’s Air Force One uneasiness stories. CNN’s Kaitlan Collins made a similar claim Jason Tartick’s PodcastOne of his White House sources said, “You never want to be on Air Force One on a trip.”
,[Trump] No sleep on these trips,” he said. “And like, you’re going to Asia or something, and this is the only time before you go on this trip where you’re going to sleep, but Trump is always up and talking, and he’ll want to go and wake up staffers if they’re sleeping because he wants to talk to them.”
Whether or not Trump has trouble sleeping on planes, it does not undermine the fact that he was caught dozing off at a time when he is expected to be awake and alert.
Conservative media personalities are doing their best to promote Trump’s snub as a good thing — or at least something he does better than his enemies.
Fox News Senior Medical Correspondent Dr. Mark Siegel Trump lost his sleep By comparing him to inventor Thomas Edison.
“By the way, Thomas Edison believed in the 10-minute nap. We wouldn’t have electricity, right?” Seagal said.
Las Vegas Review-Journal Columnist Debra Saunders insisted in an editorial that “No, Donald Trump is not following the pseudonymous path of Sleepy Joe Biden,” which, if anything, highlights the hypocrisy of a president using that nickname for his opponent.
