Bihar Ground Test Live: Nitish Kumar govt wins confidence vote; RJD holds rally strike

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar emerged victorious in the Lok Sabha test in Bihar Assembly on Monday (January 12). RJD leader Awadh Bihari Chaudhary was removed as Bihar Assembly Speaker. The no-confidence motion moved by the ruling NDA against the Speaker was supported by 125 MLAs, while 112 out of 243 MLAs voted against it. The RJD sent shockwaves through the parliament ahead of the vote on Chaudhry’s no-confidence motion, in which at least three members sit on the ruling party’s bench. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav raised a point of order with opposition MPs Chetan Anand, Neelam Devi and Prahlad Yadav sitting among the members of the ruling NDA. Check live updates
