New stickers added to Instagram Stories, including frames, reveals and more

By | Published | No Comments

Instagram has released a bunch of new interactive sticker options for users to use on their Stories. Apart from posting images, videos or reels, Instagram Stories are a popular way to share content on the platform. Users can upload text, images or video stories and can also combine elements from all of these options. The new stickers are claimed to help users express themselves more creatively. One of the many features includes users being able to create stickers to use on their Instagram stories from existing photos in their albums.

Meta confirms new series of interactive stickers for Instagram Stories blog post, One of the most innovative additions is the Reveal sticker, which essentially ‘hides’ story content by blurring it. To see the full story, viewers will have to DM the poster. No approval is required from the poster. Once the DM is delivered to the person who posted the Story with the Reveal sticker, viewers will be able to see all the content of the Story.

The company is also introducing a new Add Your Music sticker, where Instagram followers of the poster can add music of their choice. It works the same way as Add Your Images or Reel stickers. People viewing the story can click on the sticker to post the story with the same sticker along with pictures and music of their choice.

Instagram Stories will now also have a Frames sticker option, which will turn any photo into an instant Polaroid-like print. The Cutout stickers option, true to its name, allows users to create stickers with cutouts from different images to use on Instagram Stories.

Meanwhile, Instagram also recently added a new feature to its iOS app that helps make clicking and posting Stories more accessible. iOS users can now add a new lock screen widget that directly opens the Story camera, allowing users to click a photo or shoot a video and post it as a Story without opening the main Instagram application.

Meta recently confirmed that Instagram will be testing features that will blur messages containing nudity content to protect teen users and “prevent potential scammers from reaching them.” The announcement comes after growing allegations that Meta-owned apps are addictive and contribute to mental health problems among young people.
