Itanagar, Oct 28 (IANS) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday inaugurated the newly constructed Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) LPG bottling plant at Naharlagun, a major step towards energy self-reliance and industrial development in the northeastern state.
Inaugurating IOCL’s LPG bottling plant at Papu Nala (Jullong Road) in Naharlagun, the Chief Minister described the project as a symbol of “self-reliant Arunachal in action”, noting that it will generate employment, boost local economic activity and strengthen the industrial base of the region.
He heartily congratulated IOCL and project partner BA Enterprises for their dedication and efficiency in completing this state-of-the-art facility in record time.
The plant, established over 46,000 square metres, is equipped with three modern LPG storage tablets with a total capacity of 87 MT, and can refill 3,000 LPG cylinders per day in a single shift, significantly boosting the state’s gas supply chain and ensuring uninterrupted access to clean cooking fuel for thousands of households.
The Chief Minister said that since the closure of the bottling plant at Kimin, gas agencies in Arunachal Pradesh were facing hurdles in timely delivery of LPG cylinders to consumers, as these were being procured from Assam.
He said that the commissioning of this plant will provide relief to 95 agencies working across the state.
Paying tribute to late Bamang Raman, founder of BA Enterprises, the Chief Minister said, “This project is not just infrastructure, it is a project realizing a visionary dream.”
He praised the late Raman’s wife and BA Enterprises managing director Bamang Amer for her “extraordinary flexibility and leadership” in completing the project following her husband’s demise earlier this year.
The Chief Minister praised him and his children as role models for the youth of Arunachal and a shining example of family enterprise and perseverance.
“This plant reflects the essence of our government’s commitment to make life easier for every citizen,” Khandu said, emphasizing that the stable and reliable LPG supply is in line with the Centre’s vision of clean energy access for all.
Reiterating his government’s support for local entrepreneurs, the Chief Minister called upon the youth of the state to take inspiration from his visit to Amer.
“Our government will continue to support young entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into reality and become architects of ‘Developed Arunachal’,” he said.
