A source close to Obama told the author that he was not actually angry with Pelosi over the endorsement and described the conversation as a “good-natured conversation.” However, a source close to Pelosi said Obama seemed “really irritated” during the call.
Meanwhile, at least one Biden official believed Obama, who waited five days to endorse Harris, did not believe the then-vice president could win.
